BAM POP concept to finish

It's been too long since I posted. Now that Rue is back, we should start to see some more action here. I wanted to take a minute to show some recent BAM POP stuff.

We had this idea to make some nested comic bubbles/balloons. Jen has been wanting to do something on chipboard for a while, so this seemed like the perfect medium for the nested bubbles. For those unfamiliar with "chipboard" it is basically just thick board that is usually sold in craft stores and comes all sorts of die-cut shapes. A lot of times companies don't even print on them, they just cut them into shapes like puppies and cows and sell them that way. For ours we wanted to have graphics, so we printed a design on nice stock and then laminated it on to chipboard.

Once we knew what shapes we wanted to make, we drew them up in illustrator and sent them off to a company that specializes in making dies for cutting these sorts of things. While the die was being worked on, I got busy drawing.

Here is the digital art.

Since the die line can't change, you are stuck with one set of shapes, so we thought it would be fun to do a variant colorway.

And this is how the final product turned out.

love/dream chipboard, final product!

Ready to be used in scrapbooks or collages or whatever!
