trip to the big city
D.C., that is. Chris Coy made me this sketchbook two or three years ago for Christmas but it has been too precious to make marks in. so yesterday a get-away-art-trip drawing on the metro was just the excuse i needed to get the courage to break into that blank paper.
we went to the Hirshhorn and i bought one of those ridiculous six-colours-in-one-tip watercolor pencils at the gift shop. turns out i love it. Anselm Kiefer wasn't bad either.
this is finishing the drawing at Tryst in Adam's Morgan. i really don't know why i look so angry when i make art, but i'm pretty consistently angry looking while in the zone.
